Kosovo’s national u18 handball team claimed their second victory in the IHF Trophy for the European zone, on Friday at the Palace of Youth in Prishtina.
The home team defeated Great Britain 17:15, in a low-scoring encounter.
Kosovo built an early lead from the start of the match, but Great Britain fought back putting sustained pressure on Kosovo till the end.
Kosovo’s Olsi Mulaj once again led his team’s attack with 9 goals, whilst Great Britain’s Noah Sanyal top scored for his team with 6.
In the other round 4 match in the group, Georgia kept their winning run intact with a comfortable 38:13 win over Albania.
Georgia now has three wins and leads the table with 6 points. Bulgaria and Kosovo have 4 points each. Great Britain has 2 points, while Albania finished the tournament without points.
The final round of the competition will be vital for Bulgaria and Kosovo who must win, to have any hope of overtaking Georgia at the top of the ladder. If Kosovo and Bulgaria both pick up wins on the final day, the champion will be decided on goal ratio.
Great Britain and Bulgaria meet on Saturday from 12:00, while Kosovo and Georgia play from 16:00.
