Bulgaria and Kosovo u20 national handball teams both picked up big wins, on day 4 of the 2022 IHF Trophy Europe competition, at the Palace of Youth on Friday.
First, Bulgaria defeated Andorra 46:23, then Kosovo followed with a 44:28 win over Malta.
The wins are consolation only for the teams though, as Great Britain’s championship title is now all but a formality.
Great Britain leads the table with 6 points for their three wins, whilst Bulgaria and Kosovo are on 4 points, having both lost to Great Britain in earlier rounds.
Even if Great Britain loses their last match to Andorra, and there is a winner between Bulgaria and Kosovo, Great Britain will retain their top position because of their head-to-head wins against both Bulgaria and Kosovo.
On Saturday, the final day of the competition, at 14:00, Great Britain will be looking to keep their perfect run in their clash with Andorra, whilst Bulgaria and Kosovo will play for the second spot on the table at 18:00.
Malta finished their tournament on Friday, with 3 losses and a win against Andorra in the opening match.
