Kosovo’s national junior handball team claimed their first championship win, in the u20 IHF Trophy for the European zone.
The home team defeated Andorra 26:20, at the Palace of Youth in Prishtina, on Thursday.
Kosovo’s Goalkeeper Emre Karabeg inspired the victory, making a series of saves in the second half.
For Andorra, Oriol Aparicio led his team’s attack with 7 goals. Kosovo’s Ardin Berisha once again top scored for the match, adding nine more goals to his tally.
In the other group match, Great Britain continued their perfect run with a comfortable 30:19 win over Malta, to claim their third win and remain top of the table.
Great Britain are now favourite’s to take the u20 title and qualify for the intercontinental stage of the tournament. They meet Andorra, in the final day of the championship, on Saturday for their fourth and final game.
On Friday, the penultimate day, Andorra plays Bulgaria from 16:00, while Kosovo and Malta follow from 18:00.
